MADE IN INDONESIA FESTIVAL

is the First Indonesian Street Festival in Washington, D.C. Metro Area and East Coast promoting Indonesian cultural arts, travel, food and products to the American public through performances in dance, music, fashion show, art gallery showcase and workshops. Set minutes away from Washington, DC at downtown Silver Spring in Maryland, the festival attracted thousands visitors. Performances include music and dances from Bali, West Sumatra, West Java, Jakarta and many other provinces. Also shown are batik fashion show, a clinic in pencak silat martial arts, and an interactive performance in angklung, Sundanese calung, batik-making demonstration and mainstream music performance. The gallery showcases an array of Indonesian cuisine, batik collection, furniture, fine arts, and children’s games.

The festival is founded by Maya Naratama, CEO of ACHA Productions LLC, who created this event to build the cross cultural understanding among Indonesian and American community. The first festival was held in 2011 and it had attracted thousands visitors.
